Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin that has the task of supporting connective tissue fibres and structural proteins, as well as binding water. The production of the body's own hyaluronic acid decreases with age, resulting in wrinkles, dry skin and loss of elastic skin properties.
The serum uses the moisturizing effect of two different types of hyaluronic acid: high-molecular (long-chain) and low-molecular (short-chain) hyaluronic acid. High-molecular hyaluronic acid forms a film on the upper layer of the skin, binds moisture there and makes the skin look smoother just minutes after application. Low-molecular hyaluronic acid penetrates deeper into the epidermal skin layers. It hydrates these skin layers and binds the water there, so that wrinkles appear ""plumped up"" from within. It is particularly effective to combine low-molecular and high-molecular hyaluronic acid in one formulation, as this guarantees perfect hydration of the skin. The mixture of short-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acids provides the skin with quick and long-lasting moisture and naturally plumps it up from the inside. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind very large amounts of water. It thus regulates the moisture balance and promotes the elasticity of the skin.
